They are thin layers placed on the front surface of the tooth. The advantage of them is that, unlike with porcelain crowns, the tooth is not practically reduced. With these treatments we can modify the shape and select the color of the tooth from a wide variety of available colors of porcelain and composite veneers.
In some cases of porcelain veneers, we can even use the latest advances in CAD/CAM technology. They are computer-aided designed prostheses, using materials with high resistance such as alumina or zirconium dioxide (Zirconia).
Composite veneers are esthetic restorations carried out on the tooth, modifying the shape, color or position of the tooth. This is a minimally invasive and very conservative treatment.
Porcelain veneers are restorations made of porcelain layers attached to the tooth in order to improve the shape, color or position of one or several teeth.
